But Sire, Our Troops

Also known as Thanos’s “Just Do It”, the But Sire, Our Troops meme is taken from the Marvel superhero movie Avengers: Endgame, which was released on April 26th, 2019. The three paneled template features Thanos ordering his henchman Corvus to begin the aerial bombardment of the battlefield, to which Corvus cries out saying, “But sire, our troops''. Despite his own troops’ presence in the battlefield, Thanos orders him to just do it. It is used as an exploitable where someone is asked to do something despite knowing the possible consequences attached to it. It was first seen on reddit’s /r/dankmemes on May 9th, 2019 and in the following weeks, it became popular on Instagram, Facebook and 9GAG too. The But Sire, Our Troops meme is also (sometimes erroneously) referred to as: sire our troops meme, thanos just do it meme, avengers endgame just do it meme, thanos meme, thanos rain fire meme.
