Jake Bit By Spider / Screaming Jake

The Jake Bit By Spider / Screaming Jake meme refers to a meme taken from a scene in an episode titled “Marceline’s Closet” of the American animated TV series Adventure Time, aired on December 12th, 2011 in the United States. The meme shows Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio) screaming in pain with his mouth open after a spider bites him. This scene later became the inspiration of many Youtube remixes and reaction memes. People began editing the scene with an audible scream from another source and posting it on Youtube shortly after the episode aired. However, the format saw its use as a reaction image back in 2018 after a post made on Reddit by user Sandwichsamurai24 which later spread significantly on the site. The Jake Bit By Spider / Screaming Jake meme is also (sometimes erroneously) referred to as: adventure time jake meme, reddit screaming jake meme, spider biting jake meme.
